rainbow loom® popsicle keychain

Add some summertime to your keychain, backpack or purse with this Rainbow Loom® Popsicle Keychain! You will need two looms for this size charm.
Step 1

Attach two looms together, so they are parallel, and the pegs are arranged off-center by one peg. You only need five of the columns.

Step 2

Turn your loom so the arrows are pointing away from you.

Step 3

Working with the five peg columns from the right, stretch two rubber bands from the first peg on the third column over to the first peg on the fourth column. Now stretch two rubber bands from the first peg on the fourth column to the second peg on the fifth column.

Step 4

Stretch two rubber bands from the first peg on the third column over to the first peg on the second column. Now stretch two rubber bands from the first peg on the second column to the second peg on the first column.

Step 5

Working down the third column, stretch two rubber bands from the first to the second peg. Stretch two more across the second and third pegs. Continue down the column for a total nine pairs of rubber bands. Wrap a rubber band around the last peg, twice, with one rubber band (capping band).
TIP: Use bright rubber bands in solid colors or color-block for a rainbow effect.

Step 6

Repeat Step 5 down the first and fifth columns for a total of eight pairs of rubber bands each. Wrap a rubber band around the last peg, twice, with one rubber band. Add a capping back to the last pegs.

Step 7

Repeat Step 5 down the second and fourth columns for a total of eight pairs of rubber bands each; then add three more pairs down the columns in the Gold (or color of choice) for the “Popsicle sticks”. Add a capping back to the last pegs.

Step 8

Add a single rubber band that stretches over the second peg in the second column over to the second peg in the first column and across to the second peg in the third column.
TIP: This single rubber band should appear as a “triangle” shape over the three pegs.

Step 9

Repeat Step 8 down the three columns for a total of nine triangles.

Step 10

Now, repeat Step 8-9 down the third, fourth and fifth columns for nine more triangles.

Step 11

Turn around your looms so the arrows are now pointing towards you.

Step 12

Working from left to right, reach your hook into the peg of the first capped peg of the first column, grasp the rubber bands below the capping bands with your hook. Carefully pull the rubber bands though the peg and move them to the forward peg. The capping band should remain on the peg.

Step 13

Insert your hook into the next peg up, grasp the bottom two rubber bands with your hook and carefully pull them through the peg and move them to the forward peg. Continue this pattern up to the last peg with a rubber band.

Step 14

Repeat Steps 12-13 for each column.

Step 15

At the top, reach inside the last peg (with rubber bands) on the first column and move the bottom two rubber bands over to the last peg on the second column. Move the bottom two rubber bands from the last peg on the second column over to the last peg on the third column.

Step 16

At the top, reach inside the last peg (with rubber bands) on the fifth column and move the bottom two rubber bands over to the last peg on the fourth column. Move the bottom two rubber bands from the last peg on the fourth column over to the last peg on the third column.

Step 17

Reach your hook inside the last peg on the third column and poke out to one side. Add two rubber bands to your hook. Hold onto one side of the rubber bands and pull the other side back through the peg. Fold the rubber band side that you are holding over the hook. The center of these rubber bands are now looped through all of the rubber bands on the peg last peg of the third column as well as wrapped around the hook on either side of the pegged rubber bands.

Step 18

Now carefully rock the hook and rubber bands back and forth, removing all the rubber bands from the loom.

Step 19

Thread the loops (on your hook) from one side of the rubber bands through the loops (also on your hook) on the other side and pull tight to form a lark’s head knot.

Step 20

Slide the top loops of your lark’s head knot onto a split ring to complete your keychain.

Step 21
Shape your Popsicle, if needed.
